Kalahari Red Dunes Lodge
Day 1 - 2
The Kalahari Red Dunes Lodge is situated in a vlei among the dunes on the western edge of the Kalahari, where the expansive Karoo desert meets the first red dunes of the Kalahari desert. This intimate lodge features uniquely and lovingly designed suites, each offering ample space and privacy. Guests are welcomed in a spacious reception building, and from there, a wooden walkway leads to the main building, which houses a restaurant with a cozy fireplace, a bar, an inviting lounge, and the "Kalahari Lounge" that boasts a fine selection of whiskey and hosts a billiard table. Additionally, there is a pool with a shaded area and comfortable loungers at the heart of the vlei.
Day 1
Day Notes:
When you land at Windhoek Airport, you will be met by a representative of the rental car company who will take you to collect your car. From there, you drive to your first stop, in the Kalahari Desert. Settle in and then enjoy a sundwoner drive through the dunes in the afternoon.

Day 2 - 4
At Kwessi Dune lodge, you’ll find 12 cool and comfortable (and air-conditioned) chalets- 10 x twin/ double and 2 x family chalets all with canvas walls and thatched roofs. Each bedroom has a separate ‘star gazer’ room, completely open to the sky, and the perfect spot from which to watch the celestial theatre show above. Views from the rooms, the main area and the swimming pool are of the vast, desert vistas and when you can bear to tear your eyes away, enjoy quad biking, scenic drives and walks, hot air ballooning*, helicopter flights*, horse riding* and day trips to Sossusvlei*.
Day 2
Day Notes:
Today, you drive to the Namibrand Nature Reserve for 2 nights at the fully inclusive Kwessi Dunes Lodge. Relax and enjoy some drinks as you watch the sun set over the desert. Included activities from here are :
- Morning and afternoon scenic drives in the striking NamibRand Nature Reserve
- Nature walks
- Skybeds experience and star gazing
- Quad biking
And the following at additional cost:
- Horse riding - highly recommended!
- Scenic helicopter flights (at an extra cost)

Day 3
Day Notes:
Enjoy your morning activity in the Namib Rand Reserve and brunch, before you head to the Namib Naukluft National Park to see Dune 45, Dead Vlei, Sossusvlei and more. The Namib Naukluft Park is home to some of the highest sand dunes in the world, which you can climb up if you are feeling fit.

Day 4 - 5

Day 4
Day Notes:
Enjoy a last morning activity before you head to the coast, to the charming town of Swakopmund. Along the way, stop off at Solitaire for some apple pie and to take a photo at the Tropic of Capricorn and of the moon landscape and the world's oldest welwitschia mirabilis further north. In the evening, have dinner in one of the many German restaurants.

Day 5 - 6
Camp Kipwe is an intimate and remote bush lodge located in Namibia's arid yet starkly beautiful Twyfelfontein region, home to many ancient Bushman etchings.

Day Notes:
Leave Swakopmund early and drive up the Skeletton coast to Cape Cross, to have a quick look at the world's largest seal colony, before you turn around to drive inland to Twyfelfontein area. In the afternoon, either go to see the rock paintings, organ pipes and petrified forest in your own car, or prebook a guided excursion through us.

Day 6 - 8
Located in one of the most beautiful areas of Namibia, the camp and its surrounds are truly breathtaking with many visitors feeling time spent here is a life affirming experience. The north western area, Kaokoland, is identified by its vast open desert wilderness, towering dunes and swathes of rocky mountains. Tucked into the backdrop are six guest tents exuding a modern safari style that reflects their surrounds in the furnishing and design.
Day 6
Day Notes:
Today is the longest driving day of the tour. After leaving Swakopmund, start driving along the Skeletton Coast, stop off at the Cape Cross Seal Colony before heading into one of the most remote areas in Namibia (a national park permit for Skeletton Coast National Park has to be paid for at the Ugab River entrance gate before 3pm), the Kaokoveld, home of the Herero people, desert elephant & giraffe and where you can track black rhino.

Day 7
Day Notes:
Head out with expert guides as you attempt to track desert adapted elephants, giraffes, lions and even rhino. Included activities are:
- Game drives to track desert adapted lion, elephant and giraffe.
- Nature walks.

- Cultural experiences with local Herero people.

Day 8 - 10
Etosha Mountain Lodge, set in its own Reserve, is designed in the typically Namibian style with beautiful far-reaching views from the dolomite hill on which it stands. The design is characterised by wood and stone interiors with relaxed soft furnishings. Its high roofed, round thatch buildings boast a large 'Lapa' area with a well-stocked bar, a lounge with DSTV and in-door fire-place for those chilly winter evenings, a small but plentiful curio shop, reception with Wi-Fi access and lastly the comfortable, spacious dining room. Outside on the large wooden decked area is a refreshing swimming pool, out-door 'Boma' and abundant wine cellar.
Day 8
Day Notes:
Join a last guided activity (time permitting) and then set off towards Namibia's most famous game reserve, Etosha National Park. Arrive at Etosha Heights Game Reserve, settle in and then head out on your first afternoon game drive. You should try to arrive at the lodge by 14:30 to have some relaxing time before heading out on an afternoon safari activity. We also recommend to go on a nights game drive to get the chance to see nocturnal animals.
If you want to take it more relaxed, skip the afternoon game drive and arrive in time for sundowner drinks and dinner and only join the night game drive today.

Get up early and enjoy a guided morning game drive in the Etosha Heights Private Game Reserve. After an early lunch, set off to explore the southern area of Etosha National Park by yourself (Etosha National Park fees not included and to be paid at the gate).

Day Notes:
Either add an additional morning activity at Etosha Heights Reserve (at additional cost), or simply enjoy a lazy breakfast and enjoy the view from the lodge, before you slowly head back to Windhoek in the early afternoon. On the way back you can stop off at the famous craft market in Otjiwarongo, if you fancy buying some souvenirs.
We recommend dinner at Joe's Beerhouse. Booking is essential.
