Kariega Game Reserve
Day 1 - 3
Kariega Game Reserve is an internationally renowned malaria-free Big-5 private game reserve situated near Port Elizabeth, thus forming a natural extension to Cape Town and the Garden Route. Family owned and managed, it would be accurate to say that the gradual growth and development of the now expansive 12,000 hectare reserve is one of the most accomplished conservation projects in the Eastern Cape to date. Kariega’s landscape spans across five different eco systems, resulting in extremely high game carrying capacities which results in Kariega’s game viewing and birding experience being unsurpassed in the Eastern Cape. Having two major rivers incorporated into the reserve (the Kariega and Bushmans rivers) adds enormous beauty and value, where guests enjoy stunning river cruises and fishing on both rivers.
Day 1
Day Notes:
Make your way to Kariega Main Lodge to arrive by 2:00 PM, so you still have time to settle in before joining your first shared afternoon game drive. We can assist with a rental car if you are planning a more extensive journey, possibly along the Garden Route. Alternatively, we can arrange transfers from and back to Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth).

Day 2
Day Notes:
The morning game drive starts at sunrise. You will wake up before dawn for tea and coffee before the game drive starts. Then, you are off for 3 hours to find as many animals as possible before they all find trees to hide under in the heat of the day.
During one of your morning game drives, you will enjoy a majestic cruise down the Kariega River, weather permitting.
When the game drive returns to the lodge, you will be served a delicious hot breakfast and have time to relax. You can sit by the pool, read a book, take a nap and absorb being out in the bush. If you prefer an activity-filled day, guided bush walks and canoeing are on offer.
After high tea, the afternoon game drive will start around 3:30–4:00 PM. It will last for +-3 hours, with a stop somewhere for sundowners. You will return to the lodge in the dark, with a spotlight to look for nocturnal animals.

South Africa – 6-day Eastern Cape Safari & Cape Town
Michele was wonderful to work with. She was patient with our large group while we changed dates and plans. She was able to guide us through the process and ultimately planned the BEST vacation for us. Every detail from transport, to celebrating my Mom's birthday at every turn, to accommodations, tours and more was clearly thought out! I would highly recommend Michele and Indigo Safaris! You will not be disappointed.
SOUTH AFRICA – SABI SAND SAFARI & GARDEN ROUTE SELF-DRIVE ADVENTURE
My husband and I travelled to South Africa recently and was looking for someone with hands on experience to help with organising/booking our trip. We came across Indigo Safaris and specifically dealt with Ines who was amazing. They run a very professional efficient business, replying within 24 hrs (even though we are in Australia and they Seychelles). All our bookings etc were fantastic and very much to our liking everything ran very smoothly and would not hesitate in using Indigo Safaris (Ines) again and highly recommend anyone else to use them.
South Africa: Garden Route and Karoo Self-Drive
Totally awesome ! We had the best time and saw lots of birds, beautiful landscapes and we were very happy with the boutique hotels. driving was easy and fun, Klein Karoo and the meerkats were superb.
South Africa – 11-Day – Greater Kruger, Cape Town, Vinyards
I have travelled all over the world, and Indigo Safaris tops the list of all tour operators.
When I started to plan the trip to South Africa, I wanted it to be seamless, adventurous, enjoyable, educational, and delightful, and thanks to you, ALL MY WISHES WERE GRANTED! You gave Mark the most complete and wonderful 60th birthday possible, and I thank you. Please accept my deepest gratitude for understanding my requests and for attending to them so meticulously and appropriately. You kept me informed of your planning and sent me such detailed updates. I never had an anxious moment. You and Indigo Safaris are the absolute best!
Namibia Etosha Safari Self-Drive
We used Indigo Safaris to book a self-drive safari in Namibia. Michelle was incredibly efficient and responded quickly finding accommodation and supporting with our agenda. Nothing was too much trouble and the organisation was excellent. Everything went smoothly and we had a great time. The value for money was excellent and it took the stress out of our holiday. I'd highly recommend!
Namibia & Zimbabwe – 16-day Namibia self-drive & Victoria Falls
We spent 12 amazing days in Namibia thanks to Ines that took care of everything: she rented our 4x4, did our program and booked all of our accomodation + transfer.
Ines was available at any time if we had a question/ request.
It’s now very difficult to travel with COVID, but Ines make it very easy by including in our itinerary stops for our PCR test.
It was amazing to travel trough Namibia discovering the dunes of Sossuvlei, Fish River Canyon but also doing our safari by our own in Etosha. We were VERY VERY VERY surprised about the quality of all the lodges/ guesthouses that Ines booked for us. Every lodge was very clean, the staff very nice and the restaurant delicious.
I recommend INDIGO SAFARI if you want to discover Africa and especially Namibia.
We ended our holidays with 2 days in the Victoria Falls and it was also amazing.Thank you Ines,
Thank INDIGO SAFARI
