Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, South Africa

Located in the Mpumalanga Province, the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve shares a fenceless border with the world-renowned Kruger National Park. This magnificent 60 000 hectare reserve is best known for its two very rare white lions discovered here in the 1970s, which gave this destination its name. Meaning 'the place where something sacred came down to earth from the heavens', the park lives up to the hype with its enthralling African savannah, abundant wildlife, and friendly people. Visitors have the opportunity to see 40 mammal species, 360 bird species and the famous Big Five (lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant, and Cape buffalo). Enjoy a wide array of activities including daytime safaris, guided night game drives, bush walks, and excellent bird watching.

Bateleur Safari Camp

Day 1 - 4

Bateleur Safari Camp is nestled in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, adjacent to South Africa’s Kruger National Park. The camp features a variety of accommodations equipped with modern amenities and private bathrooms. Guests can enjoy facilities such as an outdoor swimming pool, a wooden deck, and parking. Activities available include walking safaris, game drives, and bush walks.

Day 1

Day Notes:

Upon arrival at Hoedspruit Airport, you will be met for your road transfer to Bateleur Safari Camp in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve. Once you arrive at the lodge, check-in, settle in, and enjoy some tea or coffee before setting out on your first afternoon game drive to begin your search for the animals, including the Big Five.

Transfers from other airports, such as Nelspruit, Phalaborwa and Johannesburg, can also be arranged at an additional cost.

Day Notes:

You will enjoy an early morning game drive followed by a cooked breakfast.

After breakfast, you can relax with a book by the pool, use the steam room or ice bath, or journey on a guided bush walk. In the afternoon, you will go on a shared game drive and then come back to the lodge for dinner.
