Day 1 - 3
Deception Valley Lodge is nestled on the north-eastern boundary of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve in one of the largest private game reserves in Botswana. The Deception Valley Private Reserve spans more than 43 000Ha of pristine Kalahari wilderness. Designated waterholes, hidden viewing hides, vegetated dunes, natural pans and an amazing valley, offering incredible game viewing opportunities.
Day 1
Day Notes:
Your journey begins with a light aircraft flight from Maun to the local airstrip in Deception Valley Private Reserve, where you will be met and transferred to Deception Valley Lodge. After settling in, you will enjoy your first shared afternoon game drive.

Sango Safari Camp
Day 3 - 5
Sango Safari Camp is nestled in the shade of the trees overlooking the Khwai River. Situated on the outskirts of the traditional village of Khwai and on the border of Moremi Game Reserve, the camp offers guests the perfect base from which to explore the wildlife and culture of this unique habitat. Accommodating 12 guests in 6 en-suite meru tents Sango Safari Camp is designed in the style of the classic tented safari camp of days gone by. With its open-air bucket showers, hand crafted furnishings and classic styling Sango Safari Camp aims to rekindle the atmosphere of the luxury mobile safari camp, successfully blending the rustic with the luxurious. With the Khwai River forming a natural border between the world famous Moremi Game Reserve and Khwai Concession, animals can travel freely through this vast unfenced wilderness. Situated on the river overlooking the Moremi and with access to both these magnificent wildlife areas, Sango Safari Camp is focused on delivering an exceptional wildlife experience to our guests. The camp’s location allows guests to take advantage of a host of wildlife activities which include open vehicle game drives both in the Moremi and in the Khwai concession area, night drives and mokoro trips.
Day 3
Day Notes:
Enjoy your shared morning game drive (time permitting) and breakfast, after which you will be transferred back to the local airstrip to catch your light aircraft flight to the Khwai Conservancy. Upon landing at the airstrip, you will be transferred to Sango Safari Camp, where you will spend the next 2 nights on safari. After settling in, you will enjoy your first shared afternoon game drive.

Situated on a rocky ridge overlooking the spectacular Chobe River Floodplains, Chobe Elephant Camp offers guests ample opportunities to explore the wild surroundings while providing a stunning viewpoint onto one of Botswana’s renowned reserve parks. This eco-friendly lodge presents an original contemporary African design reminiscent of the quintessential sub-Saharan farmsteads.

Enjoy your shared morning game drive (time permitting) and breakfast before you are transferred to the local airstrip to catch your light aircraft flight to Kasane Airport. Upon landing at the airport, you will be transferred to Chobe Elephant Camp, where you will spend the next 2 nights on safari. After settling in, you will enjoy your first shared afternoon game drive.

Matt at Indigo Safaris arranged a fantastic trip for us! He was so helpful; willing to investigate every crazy request and answer every question :)
We experienced a wide range of habitats, from delta to desert, and saw the Big 5 plus so much more. A highlight of the trip was something we’d never heard of until Matt suggested it - a night sleeping under the African sky on an open 2-story platform, alongside a waterhole visited by lions, elephants, and other wild creatures throughout the night. The stars were absolutely magical!
All the internal flights arrived like clockwork. We were delighted with the intimate “mid-range” camps we chose with Matt’s advice. Each of them was very comfortable, employed lovely staff, offered good food, and had prompt laundry service. One of the best features of our trip was having close-up encounters with elephants and other animals as they roamed through these small camps.
We followed up our adventure with a stay at the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, and it was the perfect touch of luxury after our time in the bush.
We’ve enjoyed previous safaris in Tanzania, Kenya, and the Pantanal Wetlands of Brazil, and we were delighted that Matt and Indigo were able to provide such a totally different experience for us. Would love to work with them again someday!
