The mountains are home to the second highest waterfall in the world – The Tugela Falls, although there is a debate between South Africa and the record-holder, Venezuela, about how a waterfall’s height should be measured.

The highest part of the mountain range forms the border between South Africa and Lesotho It is also here that you can drive on the famed Sani Pass high up into the mountains into Lesotho. There, you will find one of the pubs which claims to be the highest in Africa.
