Why Visit Mala Mala Game Reserve?
A Safari Icon
Mala Mala is the epitome of the luxury photographic Big 5 safari in South Africa. Sandwiched between Sabi Sand Game Reserve and Kruger National Park, it occupies some of the most prime game viewing land in the country, where you have an excellent chance of seeing the Big 5.
One of the biggest competitive advantages of Mala Mala is its intimacy and privacy. Mala Mala occupies 33,000 acres and shares a 19km unfenced border with the Kruger National Park, but only has three lodges on the land, meaning you will hardly see another vehicle on your game drives. All three lodges are situated on the banks of the Sand River, ensuring tranquil views and a good chance of seeing animals wondering down to the river to drink.
