Khwai Community Area, Botswana

The Khwai area of the Okavango lies along the northern boundary of the Moremi Game Reserve. Khwai Community Area has unfenced boundaries allowing wildlife to move freely between the woodlands in the wet season when water is plentiful and back to permanent rivers and lagoons in the dry season. The Khwai area offers the same wildlife experience as the Moremi Game Reserve with the added advantage of being a private concession, which means the ability to do walking safaris and night drives. Don't miss the opportunity to soak up beautiful views of the scenic landscape and spot an array of wildlife.

    Day 1 - 4

    Nestled within the private Khwai Community Concession, the Experience borders the outstanding Moremi Game Reserve - the oldest protected section of the Okavango Delta. Unlike a National Park, the Moremi Game Reserve was founded by the BaTwana tribal authorities, making it the first wildlife sanctuary established by an African tribe on their ancestral land.

Day 1

Day Notes:

Your journey begins with a light aircraft flight from Maun to the local airstrip, where you will be met for your transfer to Khwai Lediba, a beautiful, new luxury tented camp perched on the banks of the Khwai River. 

Settle in and enjoy an afternoon game drive and a delicious dinner.

Linyanti Concession, Botswana

Situated in Northern Botswana bordering the Chobe National Park, the Linyanti Concessions stretch across the Kwando-Linyanti river system. They are known for their exotic animal species and luxury safari options. An abundance of wildlife roams freely between the woodland habitats, ancient floodplains and forests that make up these lush, unfenced reserves. The big game in this area increases dramatically during the dry season when the area hosts large herds of impala, blue wildebeest, giraffe and buffalo as well as the world’s highest density of elephant. Several packs of wild dog are found in the area and lion, leopard and cheetah are frequently sighted. Night drives allow for the discovery of nocturnal creatures such as civets, genets, honey badgers and spring hares. This vast, untamed wilderness is the perfect location for those seeking a unique African adventure in an exclusive and remote big game habitat.

Day Notes:

After a morning game drive (time permitting), and breakfast, you will check out of Khwai Lediba. You will be transferred back to the local airstrip for your light aircraft helicopter flight to your next destination, Linyanti Bush Camp.

After settling in at Linyanti Bush Camp, you will enjoy a shared afternoon game drive and a delectable dinner.
