Masai Mara, Kenya

The Masai Mara rcosystem includes the Masai Mara National Reserve and the adjacent and excellent Mara private conservancies (Mara North, Naboisho, Olare-Motorogi, Olderkesi being the prime ones). One of the  highlights of the Masai Mara National Reserve is the annual wildebeest migration crossing rivers between the Serengeti and the Masai Mara. It is the largest mass movement of land mammals on the planet – with more than a million animals following the rains. But the Mara River crossing poiunts can be very crowded between July and October, when this happens.  The selection of camp is very important to avoid being with many dozens of other vehicles. During this time, it is better to stay in a concession, with limnited tourist and vehicle numbers, to enjoy the abundant wildife in these superbly run private conservancies, and have a day trip to the Mara River if one really wants to try and see a river crossing. There are also a few conservancies located close to the Sand River, which give a much more exclusive and intimate experience, should the wildebeest and zebra chose to cross when you are there.

Kenya – 14-Day Tailor-made Kenya Safari

Indigo organised everything perfectly, from the remarkable local driver guide to the choice of locations and accommodation.
The safari destinations were wonderful in every way, although the mass migration had left us behind by October. A short stopover between the national parks was at Lake Naivasha, including a boat ride and walking with the animals, and a guided bike ride and hike through Hell's canyon.
A personal driver guide means that you can watch the wildlife for as long as you want - and we certainly did. We saw hundreds of elephants in total but we could also just sit and observe their behaviour for hours if we wished.

In the beginning, we were a little concerned that Indigo Safaris' claimed expertise and super feedback might just be too good to be true.
I am happy to report that Indigo Safaris are exceptional and deserve their accolades and more. A wonderful experience worth every penny.

A wonderful experience worth every penny.

Kenya – 4-Day Tsavo West, Amboseli & Tsavo East Safari

Indigo Safaris provided transportation from the Mombasa port to Amboseli and Tsavo parks for four days for our 20 year old children and four friends They saw so much wildlife. Douglas was an amazing guide. The luxury accommodations and food were excellent. It was an extraordinary lifetime experience for them. We cannot wait to go there next year with Indigo Safaris guiding our way to a Kenyan safaris. Thank you so much!

Extraordinary lifetime experience

Kenya – 14-day Tailor-made Kenya Safari & Beach Break

We had an outstanding experience with Indigo Safaris! Kerry crafted our Kenyan trip to perfection, tailoring every detail to our preferences. Our adventure included game drives through Masai Mara, Nairobi National Park, Amboseli, and Tsavo West. Kerry's advice was invaluable, particularly her suggestion to visit Lake Naivasha, which turned out to be an incredibly unique and worthwhile stop.
Every lodge we stayed at was exceptional, offering perfect accommodations, delicious food, and warm, welcoming staff. We truly appreciated Kerry's reliable guidance, sound advice, and excellent recommendations throughout the trip.
Overall, I cannot recommend Indigo Safaris highly enough. Although it was a significant investment for us, the trip truly delivered incredible value.

Exceptional Experience with Indigo Safaris

Kenya – 4-day Maasai Mara Safari

We saw so many zebras, and warthogs and giraffes, it became so normal to see them every day. We also got to see Hippo's at breakfast one morning getting into the river. We saw Buffalo, a Cheetah with her little cubs, Lions just strolling around, Elephants with their babies, and a black Rhino as well which is super rare. We even saw Lions sleeping in a pack one day. Every interaction was so close it was surreal, to see these beautiful animals in their own environments living their best lives. Loved every single moment.

We enjoyed every single second and were so looked after the entire time by the lodge team, Simon our Driver, and Kerry from Indigo Safaris. Couldn't have had a better time and would forever and a day sing the praises of Indigo Safaris.

Kerry was incredible, truly! This was our first trip to Kenya and our first Safari and Kerry listened to what we wanted, made great suggestions and planned a fantastic holiday - thank you Kerry! Fantastic trip, great itinerary, 3 mini safaris within one seeing Amboseli, Laikipia and Mara. The organisation was seamless.

Uganda & Kenya – 13-day Tailor-made Uganda & Kenya Safari

Indigo Safaris provided us with an ideal itinerary for our travel to Uganda and Kenya. They were quick to respond to all our communications and were full of great options or ideas and very pleasant to deal with. Kerry Wyatt with Indigo Safaris was our main contact when we made our initial contact with that company to assist us with planning a once in a lifetime trip to East Africa for a gorilla trek and safari experience. She was terrific in setting up an ideal travel itinerary for the two of us, very pleasant and in spite of the time difference was very prompt in providing responses to us with very good input and ideas for our travel.
