What to Expect.

Plan Smart. Drive Confidently.

Not necessarily. Many routes, such as Namibia’s Classic Circuit or the Garden Route in South Africa, can be done in a 2WD or automatic transmission SUV. For off-road routes in Botswana, we provide detailed briefings and maps.

Yes. All routes we recommend are tested and safe. You’ll have local support, emergency contacts, GPS co-ordinates, and a thorough trip briefing with our team.

We work with reputable vehicle providers with 24/7 roadside assistance. You’ll also have access to our team by WhatsApp or phone throughout your trip.

Minimal fitness is required, though some walking is involved at scenic stops, view points, and optional hikes.

Visa and health requirements vary by country. We’ll provide up-to-date guidance.

Absolutely. We design age-appropriate itineraries and can include family lodges with pools, game viewing drives, and interactive cultural stops.

Most of Namibia and parts of South Africa are malaria-free. If your route includes a risk area, we’ll advise on prophylactics and precautions.

Bottled water is widely available. Some lodges offer filtered water. We also provide guidance on water safety per region.

Most destinations use 220–240V. Lodges have standard 3-pin sockets (Type M or G), and we’ll advise you on the necessary adaptors in your pre-departure info pack.

Most towns and lodges have Wi-Fi. Remote areas may have limited signal. We recommend downloading offline maps and using a local SIM for navigation.

Travel That Makes a Difference

When you book with Indigo Safaris, your journey goes beyond the road—it directly supports conservation, community upliftment, and responsible travel across Africa. We carefully select lodges and camps that invest in anti-poaching efforts, habitat restoration, and education and employment opportunities for local communities.

Even on self-drive safaris, your route may pass through community-run conservancies or involve stays at eco-lodges that reinvest in their surrounding environments. Whether it’s funding rhino protection in Namibia, supporting female guides in Botswana, or preserving marine ecosystems along South Africa’s coast, your trip helps shape a more sustainable future for Africa’s people and wildlife.

Namibia & Zimbabwe – 16-day Namibia self-drive & Victoria Falls

We spent 12 amazing days in Namibia thanks to Ines that took care of everything: she rented our 4x4, did our program and booked all of our accomodation + transfer.
Ines was available at any time if we had a question/ request.
It’s now very difficult to travel with COVID, but Ines make it very easy by including in our itinerary stops for our PCR test.
It was amazing to travel trough Namibia discovering the dunes of Sossuvlei, Fish River Canyon but also doing our safari by our own in Etosha.

We were VERY VERY VERY surprised about the quality of all the lodges/ guesthouses that Ines booked for us. Every lodge was very clean, the staff very nice and the restaurant delicious.
I recommend INDIGO SAFARI if you want to discover Africa and especially Namibia.
We ended our holidays with 2 days in the Victoria Falls and it was also amazing.

Thank you Ines,
Thank INDIGO SAFARI

Amazing experience

Botswana photographic safari – Moremi, Khwai, Savuti, Chobe, Nxai Pan

Coming out of our life in our luxury UAE bubble to 1 vehicle for 2 weeks with 3 nationalities and 5 people/personalities, making this a rewarding exploration of Botswana could have been a challenge in itself.
Catering for individual needs in a group is a challenge that Christopher masters whilst at the same time multitasking as a patient driver, amazing chef & experienced field guide with us the guests helping pitch tents, prepping veg & doing the dishes.
Being in the lush green Okavango Delta with amazing campfire dinners to break the ice set the expectations for the game drives and camping in Moremi, Savuti, Chobe, Vic Falls and Nxai Pan.

SOUTH AFRICA – SABI SAND SAFARI & GARDEN ROUTE SELF-DRIVE ADVENTURE

My husband and I travelled to South Africa recently and was looking for someone with hands on experience to help with organising/booking our trip. We came across Indigo Safaris and specifically dealt with Ines who was amazing. They run a very professional efficient business, replying within 24 hrs (even though we are in Australia and they Seychelles). All our bookings etc were fantastic and very much to our liking everything ran very smoothly and would not hesitate in using Indigo Safaris (Ines) again and highly recommend anyone else to use them.

Cannot fault Indigo Safaris - highly recommend

Samantha Scott Classic Namibia Adventure – Private Self-drive

Our holiday was phenomenal and Michele was fabulous. Her attention to detail, responsiveness and understanding of what we wanted from the trip was fantastic, helping us with additional suggestions and ideas to make things even better.

Unfortunately we needed to postpone our holiday due to a family bereavement and she was so accommodating and adaptable with the changes, making sure every detail was perfect. We also experienced some initial difficulties when we arrived (nothing to do with Indigo Safaris?) and Michele was able to support us with some additional changes that needed to be made.

If you'd like a stress-free, amazing travel experience then Indigo Safaris is your place!

Absolutely fabulous service - made our holiday perfect

Namibia Etosha Safari Self-Drive

We used Indigo Safaris to book a self-drive safari in Namibia. Michelle was incredibly efficient and responded quickly finding accommodation and supporting with our agenda. Nothing was too much trouble and the organisation was excellent. Everything went smoothly and we had a great time. The value for money was excellent and it took the stress out of our holiday. I'd highly recommend!

Makes everything for you to get the best out of your adventure!

I went on a 4 day Soussusvlei and Swakopmund tour and it was absolutely amazing. The contact with Indigo Safaris, in my case Michele, was excellent and she did absolutely everything to make the trip as memorable as I wished for.
When in Swakopmund I suggest you do the 4X4 wheel on the sand dunes in Sandwich Harbour which is the Namibia you´ve probably seen on pictures, where the dunes meets the ocean. Don´t miss this!
Travelling from Swakopmund to Sossusvlei was an adventure itself with the changing landscape along the road.
Also the guide we had, Kennedy, was great and a very good and safe driver.
I definitely recommend this tour and Indigo Safaris!
