Located in the untouched, malaria-free Eastern Cape Province of South Africa, Amakhala Private Game Reserve is a premier destination for Big Five safaris. Spanning 18,000 acres of unspoiled wilderness, the reserve is graced by the winding Bushman’s River. Amakhala stands as a testament to successful conservation efforts and active community involvement.

Arrive at the lodge no later than 2pm, so that you still have time to settle in, before you join your first shared afternoon game drive.

Day 2
Day Notes:
Enjoy an early morning game drive. You will wake up and have tea and coffee before the game drive starts. Then, you are off to find as many animals as possible before they all find trees to hide under in the heat of the day.
When the game drive returns to the lodge, you will be served a delicious hot breakfast and have time to relax. You can sit by the pool, read a book, take a nap, and absorb being out in the bush. There is a close by water hole that is often frequented by a variety of wildlife.
Then you will depart for the shared afternoon game drive and return to the lodge for dinner.

South Africa – 6-day Eastern Cape Safari & Cape Town
Michele was wonderful to work with. She was patient with our large group while we changed dates and plans. She was able to guide us through the process and ultimately planned the BEST vacation for us. Every detail from transport, to celebrating my Mom's birthday at every turn, to accommodations, tours and more was clearly thought out! I would highly recommend Michele and Indigo Safaris! You will not be disappointed.
South Africa: Garden Route and Karoo Self-Drive
Totally awesome ! We had the best time and saw lots of birds, beautiful landscapes and we were very happy with the boutique hotels. driving was easy and fun, Klein Karoo and the meerkats were superb.
South Africa: 19-day Cape Town, Garden Route & Madikwe Safari
This was my second trip through Indigo Safaris, after Papua New Guinea in August. It came about at the last minute as the coup in Madagascar cancelled a trip booked previously through another company. Christopher spring into action and put together a wonderful itinerary for a trip combining a self-drive along the Garden Route that was so much easier than I thought it would be, tours around Cape Town, and a safari to Madikwe before returning to the Cape.
The accommodations were excellent, and that was before we got an upgrade in Cape Town, the scenery so varied, and the wildlife stunning. I'm looking forward to seeing what can be put together for our next trip with more than one week's notice!
SOUTH AFRICA – SABI SAND SAFARI & GARDEN ROUTE SELF-DRIVE ADVENTURE
My husband and I travelled to South Africa recently and was looking for someone with hands on experience to help with organising/booking our trip. They run a very professional efficient business, replying within 24 hrs (even though we are in Australia and they Seychelles).
