    andBeyond Ngala Safari Lodge is situated in Ngala Private Game Reserve, which shares an unfenced boundary with the world-renowned Kruger National Park, South Africa’s largest wildlife sanctuary and one of the biggest game reserves in the world. A spectacular diversity of wildlife moves through this immense wilderness, including breeding herds of elephant, leopard, spotted hyena, giraffe, large buffalo herds and white rhino. With its name meaning lion in Shangaan, the local language, Ngala lives up to its promise, supporting several large prides of these powerful cats. African wild dog can also be spotted moving through the reserve.

Day 1

Day Notes:

You will be met and transferred by road from Hoedspruit Airport to Ngala Safari Lodge in the Timbavati Private Game Reserve. Here you will stay for 3 nights. Settle in and then join your first shared afternoon game drive. 

Transfer time: ~1 hour

Day 2 - 3

Day Notes:

The morning game drive starts at sunrise. You will be woken up before sunrise for tea and coffee before the game drive starts. Then you are off for 3 hours to find as many animals as possible before they all find trees to hide under in the heat of the day.

When the game drive returns to the lodge, you will be served a big cooked breakfast and have time to relax. You can sit by the pool, read a book, take a nap and just absorb being out in the bush.

The afternoon game drive will start around 16:00, after high tea. It will last for +-3 hours, with a stop somewhere for sundowners. You will return to the lodge in the dark, with a spotlight to look for nocturnal animals

Booking a safari isn't easy when you start with a google search. i sent out emails to five companies. Indigo's response time and follow up, alongside suggestions, were the best by far. They seemed committed to want to listen to what i wanted, not just what they had to offer. Despite booking nine months in advance, I really appreciated being given an email a month before the holiday to reconfirm everything.
