Shawa Luangwa Camp
Day 1 - 4
Shawa Luangwa Camp is based in South Luangwa, ideally located at the crossing of the magnificent South Luangwa National Park and the amazing Nsefu sector. It can be reached from Mfuwe Airport after a 60-minute drive. Set along the banks of the Luangwa River, this intimate camp offers an authentic bush experience, underpinned by responsible tourism practices. With the legendary Jacob Shawa as their guide, guests will be assured of the most amazing sightings during game drives, walking safaris and bush breakfasts. Shawa Luangwa Camp accommodates 10 guests with 5 uniquely-styled luxury safari tents, 2 of which can convert into a family tent. The centre boma is double- storey, lifting guests up to have a clear view over the river.
Day 1
Day Notes:
After arrival in either Lusaka or Livingstone, check-in for your light aircraft flight to Mfuwe. When you land at Mfuwe Airport, you will be met by your guide and transferred to Shawa Laungwa Camp for your first 3 nights on safari. You will get to enjoy your first afternoon game drive, if the time allows.

Ila Safari Lodge
Day 4 - 7
Ila Safari Lodge is an exclusive eco-luxury retreat set on the banks of the Kafue River in Zambia’s largest national park. With just 10 stylish safari tents, including two family suites, the lodge accommodates a maximum of 24 guests, ensuring an intimate and immersive experience. Each tent is positioned for panoramic river views, featuring en-suite bathrooms, outdoor showers or bathtubs, and extra-length beds for ultimate comfort.
Day 4
Day Notes:
After your last morning safari activity at Shawa Luangwa, you will be transferred to Mfuwe Airport to catch your flight to Chunga Airstrip, from where you will be transferred to Kafue by road. After arrival at Ila Safari Lodge, freshen up and get ready for your first afternoon safari activity in Kafue.

Sindabezi Island Lodge
Day 7 - 10
Rated by Fodors as one of the top 10 eco lodges in Africa, Sindabezi Island is unique. An idyllic, exclusive camp on a private isle on the Zambezi River, it is the only luxury bush camp in the Victoria Falls area. Sindabezi has only five open-sided thatched cottages, allowing guests to soak up the sights and sounds of the African bush in a perfect, pristine setting. Views across the floodplains of the Zambezi and into the nearby National Park complete the experience. Sindabezi Island is also the perfect private venue to book for small groups.
Day 7
Day Notes:
After your last morning safari activity and breakfast, you will be transferred to Chunga Airstrip for your flight to Livingstone - Victoria Falls. Once you land, you will be collected and transferred to Sindabezi Island Lodge, upstream on the Zambezi River.

Day Notes:
Your stay at Sindabezi includes a sunrise and sunset boat trip on the Zambezi River, game drives, and a visit to the Victoria Falls on the Zambian side. Other activities include fishing, a walk in the gorge below the Falls, a cultural visit to the museum, mountain bike trails, shopping trips, complimentary Breezer at Livingstone Island. There are many other activities that we can add on for you at an additional cost, such as a helicopter flight, or a canopy tour.

Zambia – South Luangwa and Livingstone

Sabi Sand, Botswana, and Zimbabwe Safari
Our tour was booked through Indigo Safaris and Christopher Bartlett. Every connection his company made for us was perfect and went off without a problem as we started in South Africa at Sabi Sands and traveled through Zimbabwe before arriving in Botswana. We highly, highly recommend Indigo Safaris.
This was my first visit to Africa and we will return in June 2025. Thank you so much, and thank you for supporting nature and the local communities.
Tanzania – 10-day Selous & Ruaha Safari – Private Fly-in
For my first-time safari experience in Tanzania, I could not have chosen a more professional and yet friendly travel agent to work with. Ines Moosman with Indigo Safaris, covered all areas of fly-in safari life, and explained in detail every aspect of my travel requirements and experience. Ines also quickly responded to my questions, and explained how my choices would affect my travel--something that was particularly important for a first-time solo traveler. Thanks to Ines and Indigo Safari's efforts, it looks like I may be rearranging my future trips list, and taking a look at Botswana next after all.
Excellent game drives with knowledgeable guides in both Rufiji River Camp in Selous (Nyerere National Park ) and Ruaha River Lodge in Ruaha National Park. I can't say enough about the attentive camp managers, comfortable accommodations and exceptional food in both camps.
Tanzania trip to Ruaha and Pemba
We were the only 2 passengers into Ruaha and arrived ahead of schedule after a very smooth, easy flight. And essentially we were the only people staying at the River Lodge, so we were treated very well and had our own driver and guide the whole time. I truly enjoyed our stay in Ruaha - it is a beautiful park, particularly after the rain. We had some great lion sightings and even watched them with a kill.
On to Pemba and again the flight was on time, easy flight, etc. The road transfer ride Saray is interesting to watch the scenery go by and our driver was friendly and bought us bananas on the way! We were met with a very-appreciated cold drink and made to feel very welcome. Mum and I snorkelled one day and I kayaked in the mangroves another day. Otherwise we enjoyed watching the view horizontally (that is lying on the couches watching the water). We met some fascinating people from all areas of the globe. It feels like one big happy family at KS, a very relaxed welcoming approach.
So we had a fantastic time. Flights ran on time, the weather was good, and we were very well looked after at both our destinations.
