Known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya—“The Smoke That Thunders”—Victoria Falls is one of the world’s great natural landmarks. Straddling the Zambezi River between Zambia and Zimbabwe, it forms a vast curtain of water that fills the air with mist and sound. The Zimbabwean side grants the most dramatic views, where mist rises like ghostly curtains and rainbows arc through the spray. Measuring about 1,708 metres across, it is regarded as the largest single continuous sheet of falling water on Earth. The adjacent town of Victoria Falls provides a convenient base for exploring the region, with a wide range of activities from scenic flights and microlight trips to white-water rafting, bungee jumping, kayaking, and safaris into Chobe National Park.

    Day 1 - 3

    Shongwe Lookout is an exciting new build, 23-bedroom lodge in the suburbs of Victoria Falls. It is located roughly 1 kilometre from Victoria Falls town, and 2 kilometres from the Falls. Our rooms are targeted at the more discerning guest, with quality fittings, elegant decor, and verdant garden surrounds. Our unique offering is a 2-platform lookout tower with views of the Zambezi River, and Falls' spray. This tower is open both for early morning coffees, from 5am, and for evening drinks, until 9pm. The tower includes an intercom system and a pulley to allow guests to order drinks and nibbles without having to miss a moment of the magical view. Shongwe Lookout also has an onsite bar and restaurant, the latter offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. An onsite pool and boma area complete the experience.

You will be met at Victoria Falls airport and taken to Shongwe Lookout, where you will stay for 2 nights.

Check-in, freshen up, and then head out to explore the falls and Victoria Falls Town.
