Manyeleti Private Game Reserve, South Africa

Manyeleti Private Game Reserve shares unfenced borders with Kruger National Park, Timbavati Game Reserve and Sabi Sands Game Reserve, forming part of a vast wilderness where wildlife roams freely. The reserve is managed by the Mnisi people, who have lived on this land for generations. In Shangaan, the language most widely spoken in the region, Manyeleti means ‘Place of Stars’, a fitting name for an area renowned for its clear night skies and brilliant stargazing. Dry for much of the year, the reserve offers exceptional wildlife viewing as animals gather around waterholes. Aside from its outstanding safari experiences, Manyeleti also provides visitors with insight into the rich culture and traditions of the Mnisi community.

    Day 1 - 4

    Ndzhaka Camp, hidden in riverine forest within the Manyeleti Game Reserve, offers a rustic yet exclusive retreat. Five two‑sleeper safari tents stand on raised wooden decks, each with open‑air en‑suite bathrooms that blend simplicity with immersion in nature. Guests dine beneath a giant jackalberry tree, where evening meals are prepared over an open fire and hooded vultures nest above. The unfenced camp ensures wildlife encounters, from nyalas to elephants passing nearby. Daily sunrise and sunset safaris in open vehicles reveal Big Five sightings and nocturnal predators, creating an authentic wilderness experience for discerning travellers seeking intimacy and adventure.

Day 1

Day Notes:

Upon landing at Hoedspruit Airport, you will be met and transferred to the Manyeleti Private Game Reserve, your home in the bush for the next 3 nights. You will settle in and then enjoy your first afternoon game drive.

Transfer time: ~60 minutes

  • Transfer from Hoedspruit - Eastgate Airport [HDS] to Ndzhaka Tented Camp

  • Check-in to Ndzhaka Tented Camp

  • Shared afternoon game drive

Day 2 - 3

Day Notes:

The morning game drive starts at sunrise. You will be woken up before sunrise for tea and coffee before the game drive starts. Then you are off for 3 hours to find as many animals as possible before they all find trees to hide under in the heat of the day.

When the game drive returns to the lodge, you will be served a big cooked breakfast and have time to relax. You can sit by the pool, read a book, take a nap and just absorb being out in the bush.

The afternoon game drive will start around 16:00, after high tea. It will last for +-3 hours, with a stop somewhere for sundowners. You will return to the lodge in the dark, with a spotlight to look for nocturnal animal.
