Where Wild Wonders Become Family Memories

Experience Africa Through the Eyes of Your Little Explorers

Picture this: the first golden rays of sunlight illuminate the savannah as you set off on an early morning game drive. Your child gasps as a herd of elephants crosses your path, dust swirling in the warm morning light. Later, they’ll learn to track animals with an expert guide, following fresh footprints in the soft earth. Evenings end with stories around the campfire, under a blanket of stars, where the only sounds are the distant call of a lion and the crackling of the fire.

The Right Time for Shared Adventures

Seasons That Bring the Bush to Life for All Ages

Planning a family safari isn’t just about where you go—it’s also about when. Choosing the right season can make your experience smoother, cooler, and more rewarding for travellers of all ages. Here’s how to match the moment to your family’s ideal adventure.

👨‍👩‍👧 June to October – Dry Season, Easy Sightings

With minimal rain, fewer mosquitoes, and animals gathering around waterholes, this is the best time for wildlife viewing—ideal for kids (and parents) who love clear sightings and predictable weather.

👨‍👩‍👧 December to March – Green Season Surprises

Expect lush landscapes, newborn animals, and spectacular birdlife. Afternoon showers bring dramatic skies and fewer crowds—great for families wanting a quieter, more affordable safari.

👨‍👩‍👧 April to May – Shoulder Season Sweet Spot

This transitional period offers great value and good weather. Parks are less busy, temperatures are mild, and it’s a comfortable time for younger children to travel.

👨‍👩‍👧 Year-Round in Malaria-Free Reserves

Private reserves like Madikwe or the Eastern Cape in South Africa offer fantastic family safaris year-round—with no need for malaria medication, making them perfect for younger children.

Planning Your Family Safari

Good-to-knows

Lightweight clothing, hats, binoculars, and a journal for little explorers to document their adventures. Don’t forget your camera to record these memorable moments for their 21st’s.

Absolutely! We offer malaria-free destinations and hand-picked lodges designed with families in mind.

We’ll provide up-to-date travel advice to ensure your trip is smooth and worry-free.

Most lodges use solar or generator-powered electricity. Power is typically available, but some remote camps may limit usage at night. A power bank is recommended for charging small devices.

Southern and East Africa use Type M (South Africa), Type G (UK-style), or Type D plugs. A universal adapter is advisable.

Many family-friendly lodges are located in malaria-free zones, but we recommend checking with your doctor if travelling elsewhere.

Luxury lodges provide safe, filtered drinking water. Bottled water is also available. It is advisable to drink filtered or bottled water outside your lodge.

Will We Have Mobile Signal & Internet Access?

Wi-Fi is available at many lodges, but connections may be slow in remote areas. Mobile signal varies, with some camps offering limited or no coverage.

We got to give a little to get a little
