I appreciate and respect Christopher's insistence of following protocol and not chasing or harassing animals…added bonus-it always leads to better interactions! Christopher has in depth knowledge of the village and surrounding areas and the land tour was a must for adventure and learning more about the island. Back to the whales which as I said are the star of the trip-the boat crew were excellent and very dedicated to getting us as many encounters as possible. chose Indigo Safaris as I wanted to book with a local company who knew their stuff. Michele helped with the booking process and was very helpful, responding quickly to all my questions and quickly pinning down safari dates. The actual safari in Botswana was provided by Bush Ways, who were fantastic - the planning and execution of the camping and safaris was top rate and Evans and Kepapa were our exceptional guide and cook. The wildlife was unbelievable, far exceeding my expectations.

Spending our last night in the Pioneers Lodge, after 6 nights of wild camping among the lions, hippos and elephants, was the perfect finish to a very memorable trip.

Matt at Indigo Safaris arranged a fantastic trip for us! He was so helpful; willing to investigate every crazy request and answer every question :)

We experienced a wide range of habitats, from delta to desert, and saw the Big 5 plus so much more. A highlight of the trip was something we’d never heard of until Matt suggested it - a night sleeping under the African sky on an open 2-story platform, alongside a waterhole visited by lions, elephants, and other wild creatures throughout the night. The stars were absolutely magical!

All the internal flights arrived like clockwork. We were delighted with the intimate “mid-range” camps we chose with Matt’s advice. Each of them was very comfortable, employed lovely staff, offered good food, and had prompt laundry service. One of the best features of our trip was having close-up encounters with elephants and other animals as they roamed through these small camps.

We followed up our adventure with a stay at the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, and it was the perfect touch of luxury after our time in the bush.

We’ve enjoyed previous safaris in Tanzania, Kenya, and the Pantanal Wetlands of Brazil, and we were delighted that Matt and Indigo were able to provide such a totally different experience for us. Would love to work with them again someday!

Makes everything for you to get the best out of your adventure!

I went on a 4 day Soussusvlei and Swakopmund tour and it was absolutely amazing. The contact with Indigo Safaris, in my case Michele, was excellent and she did absolutely everything to make the trip as memorable as I wished for.
When in Swakopmund I suggest you do the 4X4 wheel on the sand dunes in Sandwich Harbour which is the Namibia you´ve probably seen on pictures, where the dunes meets the ocean. Don´t miss this!
Travelling from Swakopmund to Sossusvlei was an adventure itself with the changing landscape along the road.
Also the guide we had, Kennedy, was great and a very good and safe driver.
I definitely recommend this tour and Indigo Safaris!

Pemba Island Break

came home feeling relaxed refreshed and revitalized, ready to take on the new year, so I feel we had a “real” holiday. All the diving was outstanding with unbelievably excellent visibility. Two dives in particular were very special for me –one was exhilarating flying through the current at Emelio’s back passage and the other was another dive site at Fundu Gap (I think it was Manta Point) where the coral and the fish were superb. The service from all the staff was attentive and caring. Craig and Sam were very professional and excellent dive leaders, as well as being fun, interesting and good company. Elaf created some delicious fish dishes, all meals were so beautifully presented.

Tanzania trip to Ruaha and Pemba

We were the only 2 passengers into Ruaha and arrived ahead of schedule after a very smooth, easy flight. And essentially we were the only people staying at the River Lodge, so we were treated very well and had our own driver and guide the whole time. I truly enjoyed our stay in Ruaha - it is a beautiful park, particularly after the rain. We had some great lion sightings and even watched them with a kill.
On to Pemba and again the flight was on time, easy flight, etc. The road transfer ride Saray is interesting to watch the scenery go by and our driver was friendly and bought us bananas on the way! We were met with a very-appreciated cold drink and made to feel very welcome. Mum and I snorkelled one day and I kayaked in the mangroves another day. Otherwise we enjoyed watching the view horizontally (that is lying on the couches watching the water). We met some fascinating people from all areas of the globe. It feels like one big happy family at KS, a very relaxed welcoming approach.
So we had a fantastic time. Flights ran on time, the weather was good, and we were very well looked after at both our destinations.

Uganda & Kenya – 13-day Tailor-made Uganda & Kenya Safari

Indigo Safaris provided us with an ideal itinerary for our travel to Uganda and Kenya. They were quick to respond to all our communications and were full of great options or ideas and very pleasant to deal with. Kerry Wyatt with Indigo Safaris was our main contact when we made our initial contact with that company to assist us with planning a once in a lifetime trip to East Africa for a gorilla trek and safari experience. She was terrific in setting up an ideal travel itinerary for the two of us, very pleasant and in spite of the time difference was very prompt in providing responses to us with very good input and ideas for our travel.

15-day Cape Town, Zimbabwe & Botswana Safari

I am a solo traveler, who was seeking a safe way to do some African safaris for the first time without a tour group. Indigo Safaris made suggestions and we created a trip based on my priorities. My accommodations in Zimbabwe, Victoria Falls and Botswana were unique, beautiful with good service and fabulous food! My guides were terrific. I literally felt like a princess, while at the lodges. When I needed assistance a couple of times, Indigo personnel were responsive to that.
I have travelled quite a lot, and this was one of the best trips I have taken. I believe that one of the strengths of Indigo Safaris is that the agents you work with are so experienced. They personally visit the destinations and accommodations before sending their clients there. So, for example, they knew, where I would see many elephants, which are my personal favorite wild animal, but fewer tourists.
I felt the cost of my trip was very fair and the trip cost included all of the land transfers and many of my meals. highly recommend Indigo Safaris for any sort of trip to Africa.
