Southern Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe

Located in western Zimbabwe, Hwange National Park (formerly Wankie Game Reserve) is the largest natural reserve in the country and is famous for its rich diversity of wildlife. Home to one of the biggest elephant populations in the world, as well as around 100 mammal species, the park is popular among animal lovers. Several protected species inhabit the awe-inspiring open landscapes, including the endangered wild dog, critically endangered black rhino, and rare roan and sable - along with lion, cheetah, and around 500 bird species. Adventurers can look forward to guided bush hikes, game drives, and horse riding safaris, all of which offer excellent photographic opportunities.

Day Notes:

Your journey starts at Victoria Falls Airport. From here, you will fly to Hwange National Park. When you land in Hwange, you will be met by your guide and transferred to Somalisa Camp for your first 3 nights of safari. After checking in, settle down before heading out on your first, shared afternoon game drive.

Lake Kariba, Zimbabwe

Stretching along the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia, Lake Kariba is one of the world's largest artificial lakes by volume and a renowned destination for wildlife viewing, fishing, and scenic relaxation. Fringed by rugged hills and remote shorelines, the lake is famous for its houseboat safaris, spectacular sunsets and excellent tiger fishing. Visitors can enjoy game-viewing cruises, birdwatching and opportunities to spot elephants, hippos, crocodiles and a variety of antelope along the water's edge, while nearby national parks offer rewarding safari experiences. After your last morning game drive and breakfast in Hwange, you will be transferred back to the airstrip for your light aircraft flight to Lake Kariba. Once you land, you will be met by your new guide who will transfer you to camp. You can settle in and then you can enjoy an afternoon game drive.
