Big Five Encounters in the Heart of the Lowveld
Kapama is one of the smaller Greater Kruger Reserves with 130 square kilometers in size and is sandwiched between southern Balule on the western and Thornybush Game Reserve on the eastern border. According to a local legend, Shangaan chiefs who demonstrated acts of extreme bravery were honoured by being reborn here as lions. Kapama was the name of the last chief of this revered bloodline. Maybe that's the reason why the reserve is known for good predator sightings...
