Moremi Game Reserve, Botswana

Situated on the eastern side of the Okavango Delta in north-western Botswana, Moremi Game Reserve is one of Africa's most celebrated wildlife reserves, protecting an extraordinary mosaic of floodplains, lagoons, forests and open grasslands. As the first reserve in Africa established by a local community, it is recognised for both its conservation significance and its exceptional biodiversity. Visitors can enjoy game drives and seasonal mokoro or motorboat excursions, with opportunities to spot elephants, lions, leopards, African wild dogs and abundant birdlife in remarkably varied habitats. The ever-changing landscapes, where winding waterways meet acacia woodlands and sweeping plains, create a memorable safari experience that combines outstanding wildlife viewing with the untamed beauty of the Okavango Delta.

Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe), Zimbabwe

Known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya—“The Smoke That Thunders”—Victoria Falls is one of the world’s great natural landmarks. Straddling the Zambezi River between Zambia and Zimbabwe, it forms a vast curtain of water that fills the air with mist and sound. The Zimbabwean side grants the most dramatic views, where mist rises like ghostly curtains and rainbows arc through the spray. Measuring about 1,708 metres across, it is regarded as the largest single continuous sheet of falling water on Earth. The adjacent town of Victoria Falls provides a convenient base for exploring the region, with a wide range of activities from scenic flights and microlight trips to white-water rafting, bungee jumping, kayaking, and safaris into Chobe National Park.

Catering for individual needs in a group is a challenge that Christopher masters whilst at the same time multitasking as a patient driver, amazing chef & experienced field guide with us the guests helping pitch tents, prepping veg & doing the dishes.
Being in the lush green Okavango Delta with amazing campfire dinners to break the ice set the expectations for the game drives and camping in Moremi, Savuti, Chobe, Vic Falls and Nxai Pan.

Botswana – 8-Day Buffalo Safari – Group camping

chose Indigo Safaris as I wanted to book with a local company who knew their stuff. Michele helped with the booking process and was very helpful, responding quickly to all my questions and quickly pinning down safari dates. The actual safari in Botswana was provided by Bush Ways, who were fantastic - the planning and execution of the camping and safaris was top rate and Evans and Kepapa were our exceptional guide and cook. The wildlife was unbelievable, far exceeding my expectations.

Spending our last night in the Pioneers Lodge, after 6 nights of wild camping among the lions, hippos and elephants, was the perfect finish to a very memorable trip.

Sheena Gordon
Completely fabulous from start to finish

Botswana Eagle Safari

Using Indigo Safaris proved to be an excellent choice for our Botswana – Eagle Safari – Group camping adventure. Our Indigo contact, Shan, was very professional. She set up zoom calls as needed and utilized her vast and relevant experience to ensure we reviewed various options and selected what was right for us. Although our additional plans in neighboring countries did not involve buying tours through Indigo, she nonetheless reviewed those plans with us and, through her insights, we ended up with an excellent, well-balanced, father-daughter trip of a lifetime. Shan also was available via emails and WhatsApp throughout our trip.

The safari itself was awesome! The team of primary driver (Gabriel), driver-in-training (Much), and cook (KP) were top-notch. We saw an incredible number of animals. We purposely chose a relatively less expensive mostly camping overland tour which, besides game drives, also included mokoro and walking safaris, and were very pleased. We were two of 12 tourists. The group was great and everyone got along spectacularly. The knowledge and abilities of the drivers, as well as the quality of the meals provided was superb.

I gladly recommend Indigo safaris and the tour we chose!
