Itinerary

Chobe River Front, Botswana

The Chobe River forms the northern boundary of the Chobe National Park, renowned for its diverse and abundant game viewing opportunities. This section of the park is best known for its dense concentration of wildlife including elephant and hippo populations, but the waters attract all manner of game including large herds of buffalo and the lions that prey on them. A visit to this area guarantees close encounters with an array of African wildlife. Visitors can look forward to some exciting activities such as: being driven along the game-dotted river banks in a 4WD; cruising along the river in a motorboat, spotting rare birdlife for a unique safari experience.

Day 1

Day Notes:

Start your experience at 09:30 with a morning boat cruise on the Chobe River in Chobe National Park, one of the highlights of the trip as you have the opportunity to get up close and personal with fantastic birdlife, hippos, crocodiles and scores of elephant and Cape buffalo that make their way down to the river to quench their thirst. Enjoy a delicious lunch at Coffee Buzz restaurant, and then return to the park on one of our customised 4x4 game viewers for an afternoon game drive, being the best time to see Chobe National Park’s large herbivores making their way down to the river to drink. Head to Camp shortly after sunset for dinner around the camp fire, and listen to the sounds of the bush around you as you slumber in your tent under the African sky.

  • Transfer from Kasane Immigration Office to Chobe Mobile Site (HATAB)

  • Shared morning boat cruise

  • Check-in to Chobe Mobile Site (HATAB)

Day 2

Day Notes:

Wake up at dawn with a friendly Botswana “dumela” (good day), and after breakfast head off on an early morning game drive. This time of day is best for finding the big cats or wild dogs as they are still active at this time and chances of seeing them are good. Return to Camp for a delicious “bush brunch” and an opportunity to read, rest or take a refreshing shower. When the day starts to cool off another afternoon game drive follows tea, and good sightings are revisited or areas as yet unexplored are visited. Return to Camp after sunset for a reflective fireside chat. Dinner follows, as always accompanied by the unforgettable sounds of the African night.

  • Shared morning and afternoon game drive

Day 3
  • Shared morning game drive

  • Check-out from Chobe Mobile Site (HATAB)

  • Shared afternoon boat cruise

  • Transfer from Chobe Mobile Site (HATAB) to Kasane Immigration Office

Botswana – Delta and Chobe Safari

The individual with whom we worked was knowledgeable, helpful, and very responsive; our requests were met; our experience with her was great.

Botswana – 11-day Okavango Delta and Chobe Safari

Ines was very professional and patient with all the setbacks my family faced not only with COVID issues but also with finding dates and availability of our travelers. Dealing with airline cancellations and Covid testing was challenging even until departure. We could not have traveled so "easily" under the circumstances without her!

Recommend highly!

Botswana Safari

Friendly, competent, reliable

From the very beginning, Indigo Safari made every effort to adapt our travel plans to our budget. Despite our many requests and a limited budget, we worked together to create a perfect trip to Botswana. Once we arrived, everything went as planned, and we were able to enjoy our vacation stress-free.

Botswana photographic safari – Moremi, Khwai, Savuti, Chobe, Nxai Pan

Coming out of our life in our luxury UAE bubble to 1 vehicle for 2 weeks with 3 nationalities and 5 people/personalities, making this a rewarding exploration of Botswana could have been a challenge in itself.
Catering for individual needs in a group is a challenge that Christopher masters whilst at the same time multitasking as a patient driver, amazing chef & experienced field guide with us the guests helping pitch tents, prepping veg & doing the dishes.
Being in the lush green Okavango Delta with amazing campfire dinners to break the ice set the expectations for the game drives and camping in Moremi, Savuti, Chobe, Vic Falls and Nxai Pan.

Botswana – 8-Day Buffalo Safari – Group camping

chose Indigo Safaris as I wanted to book with a local company who knew their stuff. Michele helped with the booking process and was very helpful, responding quickly to all my questions and quickly pinning down safari dates. The actual safari in Botswana was provided by Bush Ways, who were fantastic - the planning and execution of the camping and safaris was top rate and Evans and Kepapa were our exceptional guide and cook. The wildlife was unbelievable, far exceeding my expectations.

Spending our last night in the Pioneers Lodge, after 6 nights of wild camping among the lions, hippos and elephants, was the perfect finish to a very memorable trip.
