Day 1
Day Notes:
Your guide will meet you at 07.30 at a pre-arranged meeting point in Maun. From Maun you will drive through to Moremi/Khwai, one of the best wilderness areas of Botswana which covers swamp and dry areas. The next two days will be spent searching for the wide variety of wildlife and birds that this area is renowned for, while absorbing the sounds and beauty of this region. Game drives in the early morning as the sun rises and in the late afternoon as the sun sets will be the norm. Camping will be in private designated campsites with ensuite bush ablutions on each tent.
Transfer time: ~6 hours
NOTE: As the safari starts at 07.30 on Day 1 you will need to pre-night in Maun. We can assist with pre-safari arrangements. In the afternoon of your pre-night, you will have the option of taking a 45-minute flight in a helicopter with no windows and doors, allowing magnificent views from above. Rate TBA by your agent. Both experiences have to be booked prior to arrival, and payment made in USD cash only (transfers not included, extra charges apply). During the flight it is even possible to spot large game animals such as Elephant, Giraffe and Hippopotami.

Botswana & Zimbabwe – 11-day Eagle Safari – Group Tour
Trip was amazing, everything we were hoping it would be. The guides and staff were very friendly and accomodating. We had incredible wildlife sightings and enjoyed a great group of people.
Botswana photographic safari – Moremi, Khwai, Savuti, Chobe, Nxai Pan
Coming out of our life in our luxury UAE bubble to 1 vehicle for 2 weeks with 3 nationalities and 5 people/personalities, making this a rewarding exploration of Botswana could have been a challenge in itself.
Catering for individual needs in a group is a challenge that Christopher masters whilst at the same time multitasking as a patient driver, amazing chef & experienced field guide with us the guests helping pitch tents, prepping veg & doing the dishes.
Being in the lush green Okavango Delta with amazing campfire dinners to break the ice set the expectations for the game drives and camping in Moremi, Savuti, Chobe, Vic Falls and Nxai Pan.
Botswana – 8-Day Buffalo Safari – Group camping
chose Indigo Safaris as I wanted to book with a local company who knew their stuff. Michele helped with the booking process and was very helpful, responding quickly to all my questions and quickly pinning down safari dates. The actual safari in Botswana was provided by Bush Ways, who were fantastic - the planning and execution of the camping and safaris was top rate and Evans and Kepapa were our exceptional guide and cook. The wildlife was unbelievable, far exceeding my expectations.
Spending our last night in the Pioneers Lodge, after 6 nights of wild camping among the lions, hippos and elephants, was the perfect finish to a very memorable trip.
Southern Africa Safari: Botswana, Zimbabwe, Kruger
We just returned to the States after a safari in Southern Africa and Botswana and I wanted to say how pleased we were with the camps we stayed in: Meno a Kwena, Mokolwane, and Hyena Pan. The camps and guides were incredibly knowledgeable, supportive and welcoming. We are nature lovers first and when our group had a safari vehicle to ourselves, the guides and camps were willing to make lunch for us and stay out all day. This was the absolute best and we had a blast photographing and observing.
15-day Cape Town, Zimbabwe & Botswana Safari
I am a solo traveler, who was seeking a safe way to do some African safaris for the first time without a tour group. Indigo Safaris made suggestions and we created a trip based on my priorities. My accommodations in Zimbabwe, Victoria Falls and Botswana were unique, beautiful with good service and fabulous food! My guides were terrific. I literally felt like a princess, while at the lodges. When I needed assistance a couple of times, Indigo personnel were responsive to that.
I have travelled quite a lot, and this was one of the best trips I have taken. I believe that one of the strengths of Indigo Safaris is that the agents you work with are so experienced. They personally visit the destinations and accommodations before sending their clients there. So, for example, they knew, where I would see many elephants, which are my personal favorite wild animal, but fewer tourists.
I felt the cost of my trip was very fair and the trip cost included all of the land transfers and many of my meals. highly recommend Indigo Safaris for any sort of trip to Africa.
