Day 1 - 4
Privately owned Tau Game Lodge is situated in the Big 5 Malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve. Accessible by daily scheduled flights, or a 4 hour drive from Johannesburg. The main body of the Lodge has an impressive reception hall, swimming pool and a comfortable upstairs lounge and bar and dining-room. The 30 chalets at Tau are privately situated in pristine, indigenous gardens and embrace the spirit of Africa with modern luxury and unsurpassed vistas of the bush and the natural waterhole. The state-of the art Tau Game Lodge Convention Centre, which is situated at walking distance from the lodge, can seat up to 150 delegates, while at the Tau Spa Oasis guests are offered rejuvenating spa treatments, surrounded by the beauty of the African Bush. Families with children of all ages are welcome at Tau Game Lodge. All of our younger visitors become automatic members of the Tau Cubz Club and are entertained with exciting activities.

Day Notes:
You will be transferred by road from Johannesburg to Tau Game Lodge in Madikwe Game Reserve. Once you arrive at the lodge, you will settle in before heading out on your first shared afternoon game drive.

Day 2 - 3
Day Notes:
You will enjoy an early morning game drive in an open game viewer accompanied by a qualified ranger followed by a cooked breakfast.
After breakfast, you can relax with a book by the pool, or take advantage of the spa facilities (at additional cost). In the afternoon, you will go on a shared game drive, have sundowners on the game drive, and then come back to the lodge for dinner.

In terms of our Safari, the team at the lodge, accommodation, food and safari drives and guides were absolutely fantastic and the whole experience was definitely a highlight of our trip!
South Africa: 19-day Cape Town, Garden Route & Madikwe Safari
This was my second trip through Indigo Safaris, after Papua New Guinea in August. It came about at the last minute as the coup in Madagascar cancelled a trip booked previously through another company. Christopher spring into action and put together a wonderful itinerary for a trip combining a self-drive along the Garden Route that was so much easier than I thought it would be, tours around Cape Town, and a safari to Madikwe before returning to the Cape.
The accommodations were excellent, and that was before we got an upgrade in Cape Town, the scenery so varied, and the wildlife stunning. I'm looking forward to seeing what can be put together for our next trip with more than one week's notice!

Manyeleti Game Reserve perfect stay
We stayed at the Honeyguide Mantobeni Camp in the Manyeleti Game Reserve which boarders without a fence to Kruger National Park. The location, camp and accommodations were superb. Michele, our Safari consultant did an outstanding job on understanding what we wanted. Her service and our Safari were perfect 10's!!
