Northern Kafue, Zambia

Kafue is Zambia’s largest national park, comprising two distinct sections, of which the northern section is the biggest and shelters the highest concentrations of game. Resident species include elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo and antelope, while hippos and waterbirds thrive in the wetlands of the Busanga Plains. This marshy wilderness extends across approximately 750 square kilometres which, during the rainy season, becomes a veritable deluge. Once the rains cease and the waters subside, a blanket of lush, grassy vegetation if left behind, attracting vast numbers of antelope and other grazers. Several camps are situated in Northern Kafue, offering a variety of accommodation, ranging from budget to luxury.

Victoria Falls (Zambia), Zambia

Situated on the Zambia–Zimbabwe border along the Zambezi River, Victoria Falls is experienced from the Zambian side within Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, where walkways trace the cliff edge above a vast basalt gorge. Knife Edge Bridge pushes visitors into the spray line for a close view of the Main Falls, a continuous curtain of water, and the Eastern Cataract, where the flow breaks into narrower channels across the far side. Rainbow Falls, the highest section of the cascade, often reveals shifting arcs of colour in fine mist when light breaks through the spray. The Boiling Pot viewpoint looks directly into a deep whirlpool where the river is forced into the Batoka Gorge. Upstream, boat access reaches Livingstone Island, a rocky outcrop on the lip of the falls, and the seasonal Devil’s Pool, a natural rock pool at the edge of Victoria Falls that becomes safely accessible during low water when river levels drop and currents weaken. Activities extend beyond the rim, including white-water rafting through gorge rapids, kayaking, ziplining across the chasm, bungee jumping from the bridge, bridge swings, sunset cruises, game viewing along the riverbanks, and visits to the local market.

Chris created great trip that suited my budget perfectly. The photography opportunities were fantastic, and Flat Dogs camp was great.

Great trip

Zambia – South Luangwa and Livingstone

I had such a great time on this trip. The South Luangwa wildlife is stunning, and Victoria Falls so impressive. Indigo Safaris organised a perfect tour.

South Laungwa Safari, Zambia

What a wonderful country and people, and the wildlife is stunning. Chris set up a great tour to South Luangwa national park, and topped it off with two memorable days at Victoria Falls.

Tanzania trip to Ruaha and Pemba

We were the only 2 passengers into Ruaha and arrived ahead of schedule after a very smooth, easy flight. And essentially we were the only people staying at the River Lodge, so we were treated very well and had our own driver and guide the whole time. I truly enjoyed our stay in Ruaha - it is a beautiful park, particularly after the rain. We had some great lion sightings and even watched them with a kill.
On to Pemba and again the flight was on time, easy flight, etc. The road transfer ride Saray is interesting to watch the scenery go by and our driver was friendly and bought us bananas on the way! We were met with a very-appreciated cold drink and made to feel very welcome. Mum and I snorkelled one day and I kayaked in the mangroves another day. Otherwise we enjoyed watching the view horizontally (that is lying on the couches watching the water). We met some fascinating people from all areas of the globe. It feels like one big happy family at KS, a very relaxed welcoming approach.
So we had a fantastic time. Flights ran on time, the weather was good, and we were very well looked after at both our destinations.

Fantastic time!

15-day Cape Town, Zimbabwe & Botswana Safari

I am a solo traveler, who was seeking a safe way to do some African safaris for the first time without a tour group. Indigo Safaris made suggestions and we created a trip based on my priorities. My accommodations in Zimbabwe, Victoria Falls and Botswana were unique, beautiful with good service and fabulous food! My guides were terrific. I literally felt like a princess, while at the lodges. When I needed assistance a couple of times, Indigo personnel were responsive to that.
I have travelled quite a lot, and this was one of the best trips I have taken. I believe that one of the strengths of Indigo Safaris is that the agents you work with are so experienced. They personally visit the destinations and accommodations before sending their clients there. So, for example, they knew, where I would see many elephants, which are my personal favorite wild animal, but fewer tourists.
I felt the cost of my trip was very fair and the trip cost included all of the land transfers and many of my meals. highly recommend Indigo Safaris for any sort of trip to Africa.

Knowledgeable, organized and excellent at matching travelers with the right destination

Sabi Sand, Botswana, and Zimbabwe Safari

Our tour was booked through Indigo Safaris and Christopher Bartlett. Every connection his company made for us was perfect and went off without a problem as we started in South Africa at Sabi Sands and traveled through Zimbabwe before arriving in Botswana. We highly, highly recommend Indigo Safaris.

This was my first visit to Africa and we will return in June 2025. Thank you so much, and thank you for supporting nature and the local communities.
